What GMGN really charges on every trade
GMGN fees are simple on paper: 1% per trade. The real cost of a memecoin trade is that 1% plus several layers GMGN does not set and does not collect. Here is every layer, GMGN's recommended settings, and a calculator.

What does GMGN charge on a trade?
According to GMGN's fee documentation, GMGN "only charges a 1% handling fee for a single transaction, and there are no additional charges." The example in the docs: a 1 SOL trade pays 0.01 SOL to GMGN. The fee applies to buys and sells alike, so a round trip costs about 2% of the amount traded before any other cost.
It is the same fee whether you trade on the web terminal, a Telegram bot or the app, all covered in our GMGN AI overview. You do not set this fee and cannot lower it in settings. Independent data agrees with the rate: DefiLlama's GMGN methodology counts "all trading fees paid by users while using GMGN AI bot (1% per trade)".
Which other costs hit a GMGN trade?
| Cost | Who gets it | Do you set it? | Typical value |
|---|---|---|---|
| GMGN handling fee | GMGN | No | 1% of the trade |
| Gas | Network validators | No | Paid in SOL, BNB, ETH, TRX and so on |
| Priority fee | Validators | Yes | Minimum 0.0001 SOL |
| Tip fee | Private nodes | Yes | Minimum 0.0001 SOL |
| Launchpad fee | e.g. Pump.fun | No | Pump.fun charges 1% during bonding |
| Slippage | Nobody (price impact) | Yes, as a limit | Auto, or 30 to 50% on new tokens |
GMGN caps priority and tip together at 2 SOL. Ethereum gas is shown in Gwei, because 1 ETH is 1,000,000,000 Gwei.
What priority fee should you set on GMGN?
These are GMGN's own recommendations for Solana:
- No speed pressure: a total on-chain fee of 0.002 to 0.005 SOL is generally enough.
- Auto buy, auto sell and limit orders: 0.006 SOL or more.
- Trades above 1 SOL: 0.01 SOL or more.
- Anti-MEV: needs a priority fee of at least 0.002 SOL.
The most expensive mistake on GMGN is a big priority fee on a small trade. GMGN's FAQ gives a real example: someone sold 0.12 SOL of tokens with a 0.2 SOL priority fee and asked why no SOL arrived. The fee was larger than the sale. On copy trading, where every copied trade pays again, GMGN specifically warns that high priority fees turn profitable copies into losses.
Is anti-MEV mode worth the extra cost?
MEV bots "sandwich" a visible trade: they buy just before you, let your order push the price up, then sell straight after. Anti-MEV sends your transaction through protected nodes instead of broadcasting it widely. GMGN offers three levels: off (all nodes, fastest), reduced protection (limited nodes, fast, may still be front-run) and secure protection (safe nodes, slightly slower). For larger buys of popular tokens it usually pays for itself; for tiny trades or copy trades where speed matters less than cost, GMGN suggests turning it off.
How much will your trade really cost?
The GMGN line is always 1%. Everything else in the result is under your control, except launchpad fees, which are set by the platform where the token lives.
Does a referral code change the fee?
GMGN's documentation does not publish a fee discount for invited users; it describes referral earnings for the person who invites. We explain what that means, and what the codes flooding search results really do, on the GMGN referral code page. For chain-specific gas and deposit rules, pick your chain in the GMGN trading guide, and to put these settings into practice, follow how to use GMGN.
Fee questions
What is the GMGN trading fee?
GMGN charges a 1% handling fee on each transaction and states there are no additional GMGN charges. On a 1 SOL trade the GMGN fee is 0.01 SOL.
Is the GMGN fee the same on every chain?
Yes. DefiLlama's methodology for GMGN also records the fee as 1% per trade across chains. Gas and network fees are what differ between chains.
Does GMGN collect the priority fee?
No. GMGN's documentation says priority and tip fees are paid to validators and private nodes to speed up inclusion and are not collected by GMGN.
Why did a GMGN trade cost more than 1%?
Usually because of a high priority or tip fee on a small trade, a launchpad fee such as Pump.fun's 1%, or slippage. Check the transaction on a block explorer to see each line.
Does GMGN charge to launch a token?
GMGN states its Cooking tool charges no token launch fee. The launchpad you choose, Pump or Bonk, still charges its own launch costs.
