How to use GMGN, from login to your first trade

You can go from nothing to a first GMGN trade in about ten minutes. The steps are easy; the settings are where new users lose money. This walkthrough follows GMGN's own documentation, including the parts most tutorials skip. If you are still deciding whether GMGN suits you, read the GMGN AI guide first.

Step 1: How do you create a GMGN account?

1. Open gmgn.ai through our referral link and confirm the address bar shows gmgn.ai.
2. Click Connect in the top right, then Connect Telegram.
3. Telegram opens the official @gmgnaibot login bot. Press Start, then tap the Login Website link it sends. A login link works only once.

Why Telegram rather than a browser wallet? GMGN's documentation is explicit: logging in with Telegram, Phantom or the app unlocks anti-MEV and the automation tools, while trading with a plugin wallet does not support them. On your first Telegram login GMGN generates a Solana address, one EVM address shared by Ethereum, Base and BSC, and a Tron address.

Step 2: How do you secure the account before depositing?

Do this now, not after something goes wrong:

• Turn on Telegram two-step verification and set "Groups and channels" to "Do not allow anyone", so scammers cannot add you to fake GMGN groups.
• Bind Google Authenticator under Security on gmgn.ai. Withdrawals are locked until you do. GMGN suggests using the authenticator without cloud sync.
• Set a withdrawal whitelist address. Withdrawals are blocked for 3 hours after you first set or change it, and for 24 hours after re-binding the authenticator.

Step 3: How do you fund your GMGN wallet?

Click Transfer Funds (or Deposit) at the top right of gmgn.ai with the chain you want selected, copy the address, and send from your exchange or wallet on the matching network:

Deposited USDT or USDC by accident? GMGN's wallet will not convert it for you, but you can search USDT or USDC on GMGN and sell it for SOL, ETH or BNB, as long as you have gas.

Step 4: How do you place your first trade?

1. Find a token. Use Trending for tokens with volume, Trenches for brand-new pools, or paste a contract address into search.
2. Read the token page. Check developer holdings, insider ratio, top 10 holders and whether liquidity is burnt. If the first 70 buyers are mostly selling, be careful.
3. Set slippage and priority. Auto slippage for manual trades; 0.002 to 0.005 SOL total on-chain fee when speed is not critical. Details on the GMGN fees page.
4. Buy a small amount first. Confirm it arrives and that you can sell a fraction before sizing up.

Step 5: How do you set exits so you are not glued to the screen?

Before or right after buying, add rules. GMGN lets you preset multiple take-profit and stop-loss levels at purchase, and switch on trailing take-profit or trailing stop-loss. In the Telegram bot, send /autosell and add orders: positive percentages are take-profits, negative ones are stop-losses, and the take-profit amounts should add up to 100%. Auto sell orders made in the bot last 24 hours.

Remember GMGN's warning: auto sell is calculated per purchase. If you buy the same token three times with auto sell on, you get three sets of sell orders. Once you are comfortable, explore copy trading and sniping in the full GMGN trading guide.

Step 6: How do you withdraw profits?

The Telegram bots cannot withdraw. Tap Withdraw in the bot and it sends you to gmgn.ai, where you open Deposit/Withdraw at the top right. Withdrawals go to your whitelist address. Clicking Max will not send the entire balance, because each wallet must keep a small reserve for storage and gas.
