Is there an official GMGN browser extension?
Short answer: no. GMGN documents four surfaces and a browser add-on is not one of them. That matters, because an extension you install to "help with GMGN" sits inside the same browser tab where your trading session lives.

Is there an official GMGN browser extension? What the documentation says
What GMGN actually publishes
| Surface | Documented by GMGN? |
|---|---|
| Web terminal at gmgn.ai | Yes |
| Telegram bots, one or more per chain | Yes, with a published handle list |
| iOS and Android apps | Yes, in the App Store and Google Play |
| Agent API and MCP skills | Yes, in the developer docs |
| Browser extension | No |
The only place GMGN's documentation uses the word "extension" is when describing a web extension wallet — meaning a wallet such as Phantom that you connect to the terminal. That is a wallet you already trust, not a GMGN add-on.
So what are the GMGN extensions in the stores?
Search any extension store and you will find add-ons built around GMGN: helpers that jump from a chart to the matching GMGN token page, tools that overlay extra data, session utilities. They are written by third parties. Some may be useful and honest; we cannot verify who publishes them or what an update will contain next month, and neither can you.
That is the crux of the risk. A browser extension with permission to run on gmgn.ai can read the page you are looking at, the values on screen and whatever your logged-in session exposes. Unlike a Telegram bot, which GMGN lists by exact handle, there is no official list to check an extension against.
If you install one anyway, reduce the blast radius
- Check the publisher and how long the listing has existed. A new listing with a high install count is a warning, not a recommendation.
- Read the permissions. "Read and change all your data on all websites" is far broader than a GMGN helper needs.
- Use a separate browser profile for trading, so an extension in your everyday profile cannot see the trading session.
- Keep the amount on the platform small, and set up withdrawals properly first, as described in the withdrawal guide.
- Never enter a seed phrase into an extension prompt. Nothing on GMGN requires one.
The safer route to the same convenience
Most of what these helpers do is already built in. Pasting a contract address into the terminal or into a Telegram bot reaches the same token page in a second, and the bots are listed by handle in our guide to the official GMGN bots. For mobile, the apps cover alerts and quick exits: see the app breakdown. Every address worth trusting is collected on the verified links page, and the wallet model that makes account security so important is explained in the custody write-up.
Extension questions
Does GMGN have an official browser extension?
GMGN's own documentation lists the web terminal, the Telegram bots, the mobile apps and the agent API. It does not publish a browser extension. Listings that carry the GMGN name in extension stores are third-party work.
Are GMGN extensions safe to install?
Treat them as untrusted by default. An extension with access to gmgn.ai can read what you see and what your session holds, and you cannot audit an update after installing it.
What does "web extension wallet" mean in GMGN docs?
It refers to browser wallets such as Phantom that you connect to GMGN, not to a GMGN-made extension.
What should I use instead?
The terminal at gmgn.ai, the official Telegram bots for quick trades and the mobile apps. All are listed on our verified links page.
Nothing you need is in an add-on. Everything the platform actually documents is covered in our guide to GMGN trading across its eleven chains.
